Cape Cadogan Boutique Hotel

The original structure of Cape Cadogan dates back to the beginning of the 19th Century. You will feel the charm and character as soon as you arrive!

The Cape Cadogan is a stately double-storeyed Georgian and Victorian building that dates back to the beginning of the 19th century. It was originally a single story Georgian farmhouse which was ‘Victorianised’ in the later part of the century. A second floor was added by the owner, Mr Heinrich Becker, in 1912 using Ernst Seelinger – a renowned architect and builder of this era.

The granite garden wall still contains the original iron work from the old quarry at the top of Kloof Street, and was a wedding gift to Mr Becker. Suite 3 used to be the old wagonshed and stable, the entrance of which opened into King Street. The building was awarded national monument status in late 1984.

“This Place Just Oozes Charm”

Stayed here for two nights and had a fabulous time. The staff were incredible, really couldn’t do enough for you, and it was all the little touches that made this such a great hotel – such as the hot water bottles they brought round during turn-down.
The rooms were spacious and clean (with a really, really great shower), and breakfast was fresh with a great selection.
The décor of the whole places was just lovely and we partook in the evening port and canopies in the cozy lounge, which had such a friendly atmosphere.
Wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again. It was like being invited into an incredibly hospitable home.

“Outstanding Hotel”

This is a fantastic hotel. Almost more of a BB style but with a hotel type staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. The included breakfast in the mornings were delicious with a lot of options. It was the little things though the made this truly worthy of 5 stars such as the complimentary sherry and port every evening and teas and pastries in the afternoon. Also since it was winter there it would be a little chilly at night and they would put a heated water bladder on each side of bed so you would have warm sheets. Last but not least the service was outstanding. Can’t say enough good things.
